Just in time for tax season, North Coast Small Business Services, LLC, opened a local franchise of Liberty Tax Service in Tillamook Jan. 15.
Owner Barbara Pritchard, who is joined in the business venture by co-owner Roy Hogan, said her staff of seven employees includes two licensed tax consultants, who are available to prepare taxes for business owners and individuals.
In addition, Pritchard and her staff also provide commercial clients with bookkeeping, payroll and other services geared specifically to small businesses. For those operating a home-based business, the office can provide receptionist and other services.
"We can even help someone who is planning to open an office," said Pritchard, who has 20 years experience in the medical insurance field and is currently working on her accounting degree.
Liberty Tax Service, established by John Hewitt in Canada in 1997, is the third largest tax franchise company in the world with more than 3,200 offices in 2009, according to the company.
The local Liberty Tax Service is located at 1816 Third St. in Tillamook. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The telephone number is (503) 815-9920.
