Dick Frank, manager of the Cannon Beach Library for about five years, recently announced his plan to resign from that position effective Oct. 1.
"It has been my privilege to serve the Cannon Beach Community for the last five years but now is a good time for me to step down and pursue other interests," Frank said.
In his resignation letter to the Library Board, Frank noted that there have been a number of changes and developments in Library services and outreach to the community over the last few years.
"I think the library leadership (both past and present) can take a great deal of satisfaction in the programs that have been developed," he wrote.
Frank said he is currently planning on taking a little time off and then will be looking for another part-time position on the North Coast.
I’d like to find a position where I can make a positive contribution to the community," Frank said.
Cannon Beach Library President Jean Furchner commended Frank on his work.
"Dick has done an outstanding job for the library. While we wish him the best in his future pursuits, we are disappointed to lose such a talented manager," she said
Furchner added that the Cannon Beach Library Board is now actively pursuing a replacement for Frank’s position.
