Seaside chamber seeks more funding for Fourth of July fireworks display

The show will go on but it needs help. Produced by the Seaside Chamber of Commerce and Kriegshauser Family Pyrotechnics, the annual fireworks show on Seaside beach promises to be as spectacular as usual with improved musical coordination and an expanded fireworks- free family area.
Costs for all of the logistics associated with the display continue to rise, according to a press release from the Seaside Chamber of Commerce.
Doug Barker, event coordinator for the chamber noted the event is a signature event for Seaside.
“It is the largest fireworks display on the Oregon and Washington coasts and it has been largely supported by Seaside businesses and residents. We need other area communities to pitch in financially,” Barker said.
Barker also believes Cannon Beach and Gearhart, towns that have banned fireworks, benefit by having a show within easy distance for their visitors and residents.
“Just a few contributions from these areas, as well as from Seasiders, would be a tremendous help in assuring that it continues,” he said.
Businesses or individuals who would like to make a contribution to the Seaside fireworks fund should send it to Seaside Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 7, Seaside OR 97138. For credit card contributions call (503) 738-6391 or visit www.seasidechamber.com.
