Columbia Memorial Hospital has earned accreditation from The Joint Commission, an independent non-profit agency that certifies and accredits health care facilities nationwide.
By demonstrating compliance with the commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Columbia Memorial Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™
"We sought accreditation for our organization because we want to demonstrate our commitment to safety and quality care," said Chief Clinical Officer Leslie Blasewitz. "We view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as a continuing step toward achieving excellence in healthcare for those we serve."
"Above all, the national standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in an organization’s performance and the outcomes of care," said Mark Pelletier, executive director of hospital programs, accreditation and certification for The Joint Commission. "The community should be proud that Columbia Memorial Hospital is focusing on the most challenging goal — to continuously raise quality and safety to higher levels."
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to improving the safety and quality of health care through voluntary accreditation.
The commission’s on-site survey of Columbia Memorial Hospital occurred in October 2008.
