Medix paramedics complete EMT training

Volume 4: Issue 4 - 04/01/2009

By CRBJ

Medix Ambulance Service is proud to announce the recent achievements of three of its EMT employees.

Casey Brown, Brandy Bump, and Dana Krizan all recently passed their paramedic certification exams and are now practicing paramedics.

Oregon requires more education to become a paramedic than any other state. A candidate must not only succeed in finishing coursework and internships, but must also complete an associate’s degree in emergency medical technology, requiring 96 college credits.

Students must then complete 200-300 hours of hospital clinical rotations and a rigorous internship.
