El Mariachi Loco Dos restaurant opens in Manzanita

Volume 4: Issue 4 - 04/01/2009

El Mariachi Loco in Gearhart recently opened a second restaurant. The new eatery is in Manzanita. Opened in late February, El Mariachi Loco Dos serves the same authentic Mexican food as is served in its Gearhart location.

Between the two restaurants, owner Alba Cisneros currently employs seven people.

"I had seven employees in Gearhart, but now half are here and half are in Manzanita," Cisneros said. "I want to keep employing who I already do. Depending on how business goes in the future, I may employ more people."

Cisneros said now was the time to open the new branch.

"You know, I’m never thinking about the economy – sometimes you don’t know what you’re doing, but you need to make some money," she said. "This is how I’m doing it, and I’m happy with how things are going."

After driving through Manzanita, Cisneros noticed the empty space and decided to take a look. She said the empty location was perfect for her business, and the price was right.

"The rent was in my price range, and it’s definitely a nice location – close to the beach," she said.

El Mariachi Loco Dos is located at 114 Laneda Ave., and serves authentic foods such as burritos, enchiladas, chicken mole and tamales. Both restaurants are currently open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. , For more information, call El Mariachi Loco at (503) 717-9123 or El Mariachi Loco Dos at (503) 368-4555.
