Clatsop Economic Development Resources, a Clatsop County-focused economic development organization, recently announced the election of new board members to round out its roster.
Alan Smiles, President of CEDR and Executive Director of the Seaside Chamber of Commerce, announced the election by the Board of Directors of its four new members.
New to the CEDR board of directors are Steve Ferber, CEO & President, Compass Community Bank; Steve Phillips, owner, Phillips Candies; Susan Trabucco, Publisher, Coast River Business Journal and Mike Sorkki, retired businessman. Ferber, Trabucco and Sorkki will also serve on the Executive Committee to provide monthly oversight of the organization.
"We are fortunate to have the addition of these four individuals to our board. They bring a variety of skills and viewpoints that will enhance our efforts to serve the North Coast communities," said Rick Gardner, CEDR’s executive director.
CEDR was formed in October of 2008 after research and planning was conducted, to fulfill the economic development needs of Clatsop County. The young organization’s mission is to deliver business-driven economic development services to create, grow and retain business in Clatsop County.
Free confidential business counseling is offered as well as assistance in business management issues such as finance, organization and workforce, sales and marketing and operations.
