Access/Information Inc., a research and information consulting firm headquartered in Denver, Colo., recently opened a new West Coast office in Astoria.
The firm has been in business since 1981. Their main services are conducting research, collecting information, synthesizing the findings and then delivering them to government agencies, law firms, venture capitalists, small businesses or marketing departments.
"We’re basically librarians for hire," said Marcy Dunning, founding partner and director of the West Coast operations for A/I.
The firm has an international clientele that spans a variety of different industries. Notable clients include Citadel Investment Group of Chicago, Hewlett Packard, Saudi Aramco and the law firm Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott LLP.
The company has also worked significantly with the "Economic Jumpstart Team," a group from Littleton, Colo., that educates local governments on the importance of strengthening current businesses rather than spending money to attract new businesses to an area. A/I can then be hired by the agency to help with the organization of information.
Besides working to strengthen A/I’s presence in the Northwest, Dunning plans on using her research and writing skills to help local non-profit groups. She holds a certificate in non-profit management.
