ShoreBank Enterprise Cascadia recently announced the addition of two new lending staff, Pete Novak and Scott Huddleston. These appointments coincide with the designation of Sue Taoka as Executive Vice President of Urban Programs.

Novak was hired in June as the Lower Columbia senior lender, and Huddleston in May as the Ilwaco associate loan officer. Both will work from SBEC headquarters, located in Ilwaco.

Novak came to SBEC from Wells Fargo Bank in Salem, Ore., where he served as relationship manager in business banking. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wilfrid Laurier University, and both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Windsor.

Huddleston previously worked at New Northwest Broadcasters in Astoria, where he served as accounting manager. According to a press release, he was in charge of financial statement preparation, budget analysis, payroll and human resources for five radio stations in Clatsop County and Pacific County.

Huddleston received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University.

Sue Taoka recently joined John Berdes and Mike Dickerson at ShoreBank Enterprise Cascadia as Executive Vice President of Urban Programs, with the goal of supporting the organization’s growth strategy.

Taoka previously held the position of Executive Director with the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda). She earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Colorado in Boulder, and a law degree at University of Puget Sound/Seattle University School of Law.

SBEC is a certified non-profit Community Development Financial Institution serving urban and rural communities of Oregon and Washington. SBEC is an affiliate of Chicago-based ShoreBank and Ilwaco-based ShoreBank Pacific.
