US Bank expands region to include more coast branches

Volume 3: Issue 8 - 08/01/2008

US Bank has added two additional branches to its Columbia Pacific Region.

Region President Kevin LaCoste, based in Astoria, said the reorganization brings his region branch total to 17 on the coast.

Lincoln City and Newport branches are now part of a US Bank region that extends from Astoria to Newport.

"It’s a realignment of reporting structures," LaCoste said. "Lincoln City and Newport are established branches. They are two really good coastal markets; and we’re happy to have them."

He said the changes could be advantageous for customers, in terms of rate calculations on loans and portfolios.

"It’s helpful to have the coastal spread," he said. "It’s a nice fit for us."

LaCoste said ODOT upgrades to the highway between Corvallis and Newport could mean increased economic development in that area, and a boost for banking.
