Astoria will soon have a gourmet deli downtown.
Peter Roscoe, owner of Fulio’s Restaurant on Commercial Street, said contractors have already gutted the storefront next door to the eatery to renovate the space. While construction issues are still being sorted out, Roscoe said the deli is a go.
"Fulio’s will be opening a deli shop that will feature a wide range of gourmet cheese and charcuterie meats," he said. "Some will be pretty affordable and some are not for the bargain shopper."
Roscoe said the store will sell other dry goods, many imported from Europe. The deli will also offer sandwiches.
He estimated that the deli will open sometime in March or mid-April.
