Larson Ink is a new Astoria-based public relations firm whose mission is to help North Coast businesses get the word out.
Owner Andrea Larson Perez has decades of experience in the public relations field, along with degrees in communications and journalism.
An Astoria resident since 1994, Larson Perez wants to help small and medium-sized businesses that are currently trying to handle their own marketing and advertising — and finding it a daunting task.
"I love this area, and I respect what people are trying to accomplish," she said. "I can get their stories out there."
Among the many services Larson Ink offers to clients are media representation, including writing and distributing press releases; and negotiating advertising scheduling, placement and contracts. She also does copywriting, speechwriting and annual reports, as well as coordinating media events.
She works with a local graphic artist and other professionals to help clients get noticed in the marketplace.
Larson Ink opened its doors in November, and already Larson Perez is busy with clients who appreciate her ability to handle multiple priorities and marketing opportunities.
"The reception has been incredible," she said. "What my clients love is that instead of all these people calling them, they’re calling me."
Until recently, she’s relied on what she calls the "buzz factor," or word of mouth, to let people know she’s open for business.
"My goal is to be cost-neutral for customers," she said of her strategies to help businesses market more efficiently, "to help them save and spend their promotion money wisely."
Larson Ink is located at 100 39th St., Suite 205, on Pier 39 just above Coffee Girl. For more information, call (503) 338-8878.
