Toddlers and Waddlers opened in downtown Astoria last month. Owner Robbin Taggart said the store sells clothing and gear for pregnant and new moms, along with items for infants and toddlers.

The shop was formerly located at the Port of Astoria’s Pier One, in the new office building there.

"We carry maternity tops and a full line of nursing support products," said Taggart.

Taggart is very supportive of new moms and a breastfeeding advocate.

"Pregnancy and maternity can be such a trying and difficult time," she said. "I want to do things that make it a celebration and a happy time."

The store also offers information about local LaLeche league meetings and events.

Taggart said the shop is designed to be kid-friendly, so moms can feel comfortable shopping with little ones in tow.

"Everything three feet and below inside the store is available for play," Taggart said. "Above that is our merchandise for sale."

The store will hold a Mother’s Day "World’s Most Wonderful Waddler" contest, to honor of pregnant mothers. Customers can submit nominations to the store.

Taggart said moms should think of Toddlers and Waddlers as a place where "the luxury of designer clothing meets the reality of kids."

Toddlers and Waddlers is located at 1124 Commercial St, in the storefront previously occupied by Let it Rain. The store is open Mon. through Sat. 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (503) 325-9399.
