Seaside Convention Center sees event numbers increase

Volume 2: Issue 2 - 02/01/2007

Business is booming at the Seaside Convention Center. Year-end stats for 2006 show a 6 percent increase in bookings and events over 2005. Convention Center General Manager Russ Vandenberg said in a press release that the center hosted 126 events last year.

"Economic impact totaled just over $27 million," Vandenberg said. "We are also looking forward to 2007 that is projected to increase an additional 10 percent."

Vandenberg attributed the jump in business to the organization’s emphasis on customer service. "We believe the quality of the products and services we offer has become the standard other in our industry strive to attain," he said.

Last year’s events, many lasting multiple days, kept the convention center busy for 258 days in 2006.
