Theresa Turner was recently hired for the position of General Manager for Englund Marine and Industrial Supply Company, headquartered in Astoria. Turner took over some of the job responsibilities previously held by Kurt Englund, who now holds the position of Vice President for this regional, family owned business.
Turner has extensive experience in the marine industry, including 23 years at Diversified Products, a marine distribution company. After moving up the ranks, her final position at the firm was that of General Manager. Turner also worked for West Marine for eight years.
One of Turner’s priorities is to assist Englund Marine in transitioning from a paper-based company to a computer-oriented one.
"We are working to develop systems that are more efficient, which will allow us to spend more time with customers, and less time with paper," Turner said.
Englund Marine was established in 1944, and serves the Oregon, Washington and California markets. It recently moved its Astoria location into a new, 40,000 square foot facility at the Port of Astoria.
